Phil has been sailing the Chesapeake Bay since 2002, when he retired from the Marine Corps, where he flew and maintained helicopters. He has worked as an assistant harbormaster in Annapolis, ensuring safe harbor operations and providing mobile pumpout service. He now works as a delivery captain and provides new-boatowner orientation services for several Maryland yacht dealers. He also is the owner and chief executive officer of Atlantic Maritime Services, LLC, offering private instruction, charter, and yacht delivery services for both powerboat and sailboat owners. He and his wife, Valerie, regularly cruise Chesapeake Bay on board Meritage, their 36-foot S2 sailboat. Phil holds a 50-ton master’s license with endorsements for auxiliary sail and towing assistance. He has been a member of CAPCA since 2013.
