Courses will be listed when they are open for registration.

  • CAPCA members must log in to register for members-only courses and also to register for public courses at the discounted price for members. Some courses may not offer a discount for members.
  • Only online registrations will be accepted at www.capca.net/classes
    Space is limited. No walk-ins will be accepted.
  • Reservations and payments - CAPCA uses PayPal for all payments. You’ll be automatically directed to the PayPal website whenever you click on a button that invites you to pay. You don’t have to have a PayPal account. You can enter your credit card information into the PayPal form each time you want to pay. However, if you sign up for a PayPal account, it’ll make future payments for membership renewal or course fees easier because PayPal will have your details on file.   • No refunds unless space can be filled.

Captain’s License Renewal for OUPV and Master up to 100 tons

This is a license RENEWAL class. You must already hold a US Coast Guard license.

March 18, 2023 - Sign in 0730. Class time 0800 to 1600. Exam starts approx. 1600.

Location: Annapolis Elk's Lodge, 2 Pythian Drive, Annapolis, MD  21037

Cost: CAPCA Members $200; all others $240.

Practical Marine Radar

Saturday April 8, 2023 8 a.m to 4 p.m.

This one-day course is designed to show practical uses of marine Radar for Piloting, Chart Navigation and Collision Avoidance. Both professional Captains and recreational boaters will gain knowledge in practical Radar techniques using simple procedures.

CPR, AED and First Aid for Boaters 04/15/2023

Saturday, April 15, 2023 - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Cost: $100 for CAPCA and SBYC members and their families; $115 for all others.

Location: Selby Bay Yacht Club, 1116 Turkey Point Rd. Edgewater, MD 21037

This one-day course is designed especially for boaters. The program is taught by American Heart Association Certified Instructors who are all experienced boaters. 

Upon completion of the training, students will receive an American Heart Association Course Completion Card in CPR, AED & First Aid.  This certification card has a two-year expiration date, and it is accepted by the USCG for captain’s license requirements.

An AHA-approved CPR face mask is required for this course. If you do not have one, a mask will be available for purchase at the class for $15.00.
