Captain Mike Dhillon has a 50 ton near coastal Masters license with a towing endorsement, and is an ABYC certified technician. He is a captain for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources aboard various research vessels conducting water quality monitoring and various fish and shellfish assessments. He is currently gearing up to launch his new tour business "King Vern Cruises" based in Annapolis, Maryland this year.

He grew up on the Severn River and was a "river rat" from age 12 crabbing and fishing on a small bay built skiff, upgrading to a 16' Whaler around 15 and exploring as far as the 10 gallons of fuel would allow. In college he bought a 33' Cherubini designed sloop and lived aboard with his chocolate lab. He crewed for years on offshore deliveries to Florida and the Caribbean and fell in love with the open ocean. After getting his captains license he has started taking delivery jobs himself and operating tour boats in the Annapolis area.
