Austin Mansfield is a Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sterling, VA. He is the local forecast office program leader for the Marine, GIS, and SKYWARN programs. Austin earned his B.S. in Applied Atmospheric Science from East Carolina University and a M.S. in Earth Sciences with a concentration in Meteorology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Austin grew up on the waters of eastern NC, having been raised at an early age along the Outer Banks. His main interests related to meteorology include tropical/marine and severe weather. Austin is an avid fisherman and sports enthusiast.
