CAPCA is sponsoring a trip to Poplar Island on Monday, Oct 14. The trip is limited to 24 participants.
We will depart the Maryland Environmental Servivce (MES) land base on Tilghman Island promptly at 9:00:00 AM. Please plan on arriving 10-15 minutes early to use the porta potty if needed. We are scheduled to return to Tilghman Island at 12:00:00 PM.
Please note that pets are prohibited. All participants are required to wear a life jacket (provided) while on the boat from Tilghman to Poplar and back.
Participants must be prepared to board a boat and climb a few steps; however the amount of walking is minimal.
Tours run rain or shine. However, in the event of severe weather we may need to cancel the tour, in which case we will contact you as soon as a decision has been made.
The boat will depart promptly at the above scheduled time. Please make sure you arrive on time so that you are not left behind. We cannot allow alternative boat transportation to dock on Poplar Island.
The tour does not include a designated lunch break but feel free to bring snacks.
We encourage you to bring binoculars.
The event is open to CAPCA members, friends, and family.

Are you signed up for the Poplar Island tour on October 14? What better way to get to Tilghman Island than by boat? Captain Mike Krissoff and his 46’ deadrise Full Moon will leave at 0645 from Eastport Yacht Club. Mike has plenty of room aboard for other CAPCA members, free of charge. The plan is to dock at Knapp Narrows Marina and walk across the bridge to the boat that will take us to Poplar Island. After getting back to Tilghman from the tour, we can have lunch at the marina restaurant, and get back to Annapolis by 1600 latest. Weather may affect the viability of this excursion but it can be a game day decision, still allowing time to go by car if the bay is ugly. Contact Mike at 410-353-6596 orThis email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.with any questions and to let him know you’re coming aboard Full Moon. Advance sign-up is required, and you must be registered with CAPCA for the Poplar Island tour.
