Lifelong boater Captain Scott Berg is a surveyor, ABYC-certified master technician, and frequent delivery captain. He will share knowledge gleaned from countless deliveries and marine surveys, including what delivery captains and boat owners should know or ask before leaving the dock.

His deep expertise with electrical, propulsion, fuel, communications, and miscellaneous onboard systems provides a credible foundation for his real-life stories about avoiding surprises at sea.

Speaker: Austin D. Mansfield, Meteorologist, NOAA/NWS: "Update on Marine Forecasting and Modeling"

Mariners consult multiple weather forecasts and apps for prudent decision-making about passage making, yet many weather models disagree which raises doubt and confusion. Meteorologist Austin Mansfield will provide an update on marine forecasting and modeling.

He will also describe two programs that engage active mariners in weather observations, including SKYWARN and the Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador Program.
